Consolations 29
Savour
Listen to the wind,
it has secrets to share.
Watch the clouds move,
they have poems to shed.
Smell earth’s rich gifts,
they speak in parables.
Taste the sweet freshness,
it is honey unchained.
Touch the lake of longing,
hunger is belonging.
Consolations 25
Replenish your awareness
with beautiful things –
your heart will surely sing.
Begin
There is a music to Spring
that fills the heart
with joy and juice
and heavenly hope
There is a boon to Spring
that lifts the mind
with visions that sing
rippling in bliss
There is a thrill to Spring
that startles the limbs
a riot of colour
stunned by the sun
There is a growth to Spring
freshening the spirit
casting off shadows
leap and begin.
Consolations 13
This moment
right now
is infinitely
resplendent.
Coffee
I sit and scribble a few words
on beauty and sorrow.
Kisses carried in the night sky.
Palms joined with flushed awareness.
Pain pressed in stained pages.
Aches assuaged by starlight
and meadow bright.
It is enough to know you live,
that trees will bear fruit
once more.
Story
Bright butterfly
you came to me today
with a story to share:
Be bold
believe in change
resurrect yourself
beauty is all around you.
Be joyful
be light
reach out
and connect
for in this one life
you are truly blessed.
Let grace be your guide
and follow the spirit
that resides inside.
Meditation 94: Self-Love
To be able to give love to another person, you have to first be able to love yourself. It all begins with self-love. To love oneself with all your flaws and imperfections is a beautiful manifestation of acceptance and growth. Nothing positive happens without love. Love is the bedrock upon which a life of generosity, goodness, and gratitude are built. And if you can’t give yourself a splash of self-loving, take time to replenish your soul within the beneficent clemency of Nature’s cathedral. Stay hungry, remain grateful, be exuberant. You are just as worthy of love as any other living creature.
Meditation 54: Letting Go
Sometimes, the pain of holding on
is far greater than the pain of letting go.
Choose the lesser of the two pains
and allow yourself to feel everything
that arrives. Nothing can be denied.
Call it a pruning of the mind.
Fresh thinking will blossom.
Fresh love will bloom. Fresh desire will grow.
All that we know flows from the wisdom
that glows in our soul.
Look Up
Look up
when the heart is torn
look up
a freshness is born.
Look up
the clouds soon part
look up
observe sorrows depart.
Look up
and still your mind
look up
before you go blind.
Look up
notes dance in the air
look up
you were made to flare.
