Look Up

Look up
when the heart is torn
look up
a freshness is born.
Look up
the clouds soon part
look up
observe sorrows depart.
Look up
and still your mind
look up
before you go blind.
Look up
notes dance in the air
look up
you were made to flare.

Haiku

Hours pass in a daze
fading into nothingness –
Bang! The light strikes.

Rain

Looking out the window this morning,
poppies swaying in the nourishing rain,
a meeting of gentle gratitude,
I press my palm up against the glass.
The give and take an enchanting dance;
hungry for your touch, your fluent laugh.

These Times

These times may be tough

and the heart cries,”enough”;

The world has lost its song,

fear hums a gruesome gong;

All hope rinsed and ebbed

into a vast and ghastly web.

Yet be still and drink it all in –

magic springs deep within;

The sun shall rise again,

our palms in prayer – amen.
