Consolations 23

When you open
the shutters of your mind,
how much richer
and radiant
this world you will find.

Blossoming

Why crawl through life
when you were born
to walk?

Why hide your colours
when you were destined
to shine?

Why deny your presence
when you were fashioned
to fly?

Why stifle your words
when you were built
to sing?

Why close your heart
when you were shaped
to love?

Why dim your light
when you were made
to blossom?

Begin

There is a music to Spring
that fills the heart
with joy and juice
and heavenly hope

There is a boon to Spring
that lifts the mind
with visions that sing
rippling in bliss

There is a thrill to Spring
that startles the limbs
a riot of colour
stunned by the sun

There is a growth to Spring
freshening the spirit
casting off shadows
leap and begin.

Sustenance

The morning always comes.
The mind may be tortured
the body may betray
the spirit may be stifled
and self lose its sway.

The morning always comes,
hope lifting like birdsong.
Love lights the way.
