Feral creature
at peace with Earth’s beauty –
what wisdom you preach!

Noticing

You look out of the window
and notice a cat
all clad in black
elegant in stature
regal in presence
questioning you
as if to say
“What are you doing here?”
This is a question
you often ask of yourself.
Any answers that arrive
soon slide into
life’s minutiae.
Meanwhile
the sleek trespasser
trots off nonchalantly
a riddle in motion
and you settle down
quite contentedly
to your third cup of tea
on a deliciously
whimsical day.
