Water pours in scented ease –
Spirits unsheathed.
Rapt in wonder,
I hang
Upon
Your every word.
Starlit,
Blessed,
Modest charms
Ablaze.
Limpid syllables
You utter,
An ardent voice
In whose
Whetted
Tenderness
I humbly succumb.

What is life without the meeting of minds?
A cheerless chasm.
What is life without the touch of laughter?
An echo with no soul.
What is life without the linking of limbs?
Empty beyond words.
What is life without the flame of love?
Hollow. Hollow. Hollow.

I dream you naked
distant as a star,
shining without fright
on my solitary life.
Brazen is my creed
to drink on this
succulent need.
Alone, I cry unheard
as ancient cares
drift into space.
But if we come as one,
in a burning blaze
dispelling convention,
I will show you
what is wild and unfenced,
modesty dispensed.
You lit my poetic boat
Thus causing my soul to float.
You lit my fevered brain
Kissing the end of pain.
You lit my ardent craze
Setting my words ablaze.
You lit my ruffled shore
Where I craved more and more.
You sparked my ardent longing
In love there is belonging.
